Bikeworld to receive a very special visit from a Motorbike Racing Hero

“Guy Martin, the Lincolnshire Legend!”

On Saturday, August 25th 2012 Ireland’s largest retailer of motorcycle goods and accessories will be honoured with a visit from one of local motorsports’ big names, Superbike racer, Guy Martin.

For all you motorbike enthusiasts, it is unlikely that Guy Martin needs any introduction. The name alone should instantly grasp the attention of any true motorbike racing fan. For those of you who are new to the sport however, Guy is something of an iconic figure in Irish and UK motorbike racing, a modern day folk-hero on the racing circuit you might say with an enormous fan base. Like his father before him who secured many racing victories, Guy has been racing competitively for many years. He is a highly skilled motorcyclist, best known for road racing. His name is probably most synonymous with the annual Isle of Man TT in which he has competed for 9 consecutive years. He recently featured as the central character in a 2011 video documentary about the famous racing competition called ‘TT: Closer to the Edge’.

Guy, who is still on a high following his latest victory after taking first place at the Ulster Superbike Grand Prix on August 14th last, will pay a visit to the Bikeworld superstore next Saturday, to show his support for the number one retailer of motorbike goods and accessories in Ireland. Store customers and racing fans will have an opportunity to come down and meet the Lincolnshire legend, take photos and get themselves a signed autograph. It is also the perfect opportunity to check out the store’s hottest products including the Dainese AGV and Red Torpedo ranges, the brands Guy Martin himself wears on the circuit.

2012 marks Bikeworlds’ seventeenth year in business and has been an exceptionally busy time for the company. With escalating fuel prices, there is clear evidence of a rising demand for motorbikes in the local market. The company is stepping up its efforts to promote motorbike riding as a more cost-effective and convenient alternative to other modes of transport by increasing its product range thus making more quality products available to motorcyclists. (Les – are the previous sentences an accurate assessment of things at the moment?)Guy Martin’s visit to the store is both welcomed and timely as outlined by managing director, Les Griffin in a statement last week. Mr. Griffin confirmed, “It will be an honour and privilege to have a world class motorbike racer come and visit our store. We have been hoping to get Guy over for some time now but were not sure it would be possible due to his busy schedule. However, he has kindly agreed to visit us this coming weekend and we are all extremely excited about it. Our aim in getting Guy to come to the store is to provide our customers with a unique opportunity to meet one of their racing heroes as a token of our appreciation for their business and loyalty over the years. Further to this, we hope Guy’s visit will highlight our commitment and dedication to customers and indeed to the motorcycle industry in Ireland as a whole”.

Guy Martin will be at Bikeworld, No. 1 Longmile Road, Dublin 12 on Saturday, August 25th. He will make three separate one hour appearances at the store over the course of the day from 11am – 12pm, again from 1pm – 2pm and finally from 3pm – 4pm.
